Meet The Teachers
Chidimma Benson is a scriptwriter, a music composer, and a prose/fiction writer. She has a B.Ed. in Music and Education, an M.A., and a Ph.D. in Theater-in-Education. Her self-publishing career began in 2021, with the publishing of her first musical play, Queen Esther’s Sacrifice. Having given herself to full-time writing, within a space of ten months, she emerged with her ten self-published books, six of which are musical dramatic works, three of them being educational resource books, and one, a Christian religious non-fiction. In addition to writing entertaining, educational and insightful books for public consumption, Dr. Chidimma is out to promote the use of drama for exciting, engaging and interactive experiences in the learning of Igbo language in schools and at home. The successful publishing of her Theatrical Classroom Lesson Plans, which contains two Igbo lessons that are to be conveyed through Igbo drama, aroused a desire in her to begin writing full-length plays and compendium of plays in Igbo language, an idea she has nursed for some time. Her interest for theatrical Igbo contents is also seen in Queen Esther’s Sacrifice in which she interwove a few Igbo speeches with dialogues in English language.

“The idea to diversify and encourage young minds in the area of learning their "mother tongue" was a welcome idea born out of love and pride for our culture, people, and land. Coming from such a culturally endowed tribe has been a tremendous strength in this life journey. They say we think, reason, and rationalize first in our mother tongue. Together, we can help provide a better focus for the younger generation.”
